That’s why we’re excited to welcome Ahmad Zalmay as our new Precontracts Manager, a role that will see him shaping strategy, strengthening client connections, and ensuring our submissions hit the mark every time.

Ahmad began his career in finance before digging into construction 11 years ago. He cut his teeth on-site with John Holland, delivering Level Crossing Removal Projects, before moving into the fast-paced world of bids and precontracts—and hasn’t looked back since.

Over the years, Andy has worn many hats, including a client-side role with RPV on the Melbourne Airport Rail project, and most recently as a Senior Estimator with BMD Urban. This mix of on-site, client-side and estimating experience gives him a strong foundation to lead tenders from every angle.

As Precontracts Manager, Ahmad will be involved in every stage of the tender lifecycle, from identifying opportunities and engaging clients, to leading reviews, shaping winning strategies and supporting delivery once the work is won. He’ll also play a big role in improving how we work, making sure every submission is sharp, well-resourced and aligned with our clients’ needs.

“I’m excited by the opportunity at Unyte to move beyond traditional, siloed project-by-project tendering and embrace a more entrepreneurial, cross-functional and best-for-group approach,” Ahmad said.

“My goal is to craft bid strategies that not only secure work with a safe margin but also maximise asset utilisation and harness the full spectrum of capabilities across Symal business units.”
